Language

First Nations United will help in retaining the language of our people. The language is very important to identity of first nation people and has been for thousands of years. The language is a way to reconnect to who we are for each person in all the native community.

The reasoning for this language program is help people of all ages break this negative cycle to our culture. The meaning of negative cycle is one set up by the United States government’s boarding schools. The boarding school broke the language teaching to our people about the culture.

The goals for First Nation United are to use methods in education of the language to the people in more than one way. The elders of the native community can come in to help in language table’s night. Education for the adults is another way connects to the family’s that helps raise the children of our great nation. The adults and children can learn the language together through video and tapes. They can also come to language table and their will more methods to retain the language, such as game prizes for the kids.

The program will bring a new way of learning that has a family atmosphere. These methods will appeal to adults and children of today so, it will keep the culture strong.
